So I showed up at 7:35 am to take the physical fitness test which started sharply at 8 am. At about 8:10 they gathered us all together and told us that there is no longer accepting recruits for the academy. Thursday night the city council decided that there was no money for new recruits. So no January course. That means I paid $400 to come out and test for something that no longer exists. They told us that we could take the physical so that we could see where we were at but it wouldn't count toward future hiring. Needless to say I didn't take it. I saw no reason to kill myself over something that wasn't gonna count.
The written however would still be given because the scores are good for 18 months. They said that the earliest there would be a class would be september 09. and that was at the earliest, no guarantees.
I meet 3 other women there and we all agreed that we were hungry and should go out for breakfast before the written exam. We drove to Denny's and had a nice discussion about how stupid the whole thing was and one of the women's husband joined us for breakfast. He told us about an academy on the northside of El Paso that you had to pay to go to but trained you as a certified peace officer. Complete with the endorsement for the state exam. After that you go to one of the small towns outside of El Paso (he said 3 of them but I can't remember what they were) and work for them for 6 months then transfer into El Paso. El Paso accepts Lateral transfers more often than they do regular recruits. So the four of us really liked that idea. from start to finish it would be quicker than waiting for El Paso to start hiring again. I exchanged information with them so that I could keep in touch and so we could possibly all so through that academy together.
I want to thank everyone who has been wishing me good luck and support in this endeavor. This is only a detour and It will only slow me down not stop me.
However, since I paid for a $400 plane ticket to come down here and there is no academy class we will be contacting the city and the police department for reimbursement cuz that just pisses me off. |

I'm sitting on the couch in my father-in-law's house watching the season premiere of Stargate Atlantis. My stomach is antsy and hungry. I go to bed as soon as it's over. Tomorrow I wake up and take the physical fitness test for the police department followed by the written. I'm pretty nervous and anxious. Not to mention terrified. Well, that's all I got for now. |

Let's see............. The move went good. Still have to unpack a few boxes but we'll see if that gets done before we move again. We received our next orders so we know where we are going next. I've applied for the police academy there but they haven't gotten back to me yet. They just got my application this past week so probably haven't had too much time to look over it.
There's a written exam and a physical fitness test to even be considered for the next step. I have to run 1.5 miles in 15 min 20 sec, do 18 push-ups in a minute, and 27 sit-ups in a min. I've been working on the run and I'm feeling pretty good about it. Not confident but good. I still want to improve my run. I've hit a bit of a snag though, I've hurt one of the tendons attached to my knee cap. Can't remember what it's called but it's swelling. I'm gonna take a week off of running to give it a chance to heal. Just walking and low-impact. The push-ups I'm a bit worried about. Not too good at those but I'm working on it. Sit-ups I've got in the bag. Looking forward to finally being a cop. I've waited a long time for this. :)
Anyways, I've been so focused on the police academy I haven't spent much time online keeping up with all of my online friends. I'm hoping to get back on the boards but it's gonna be a slow process. I've been away for so long that there's a lot to catch up.
I do miss hanging out with everybody. :( |

thankfully January is here. Went to Hawaii from December 1st to the 10th. It was beautiful.
Came back, washed clothes and repacked. Headed back to Indiana for the Holidays. It was eventful to say the least. Did a lot of driving.
15th - flew in late and spent the night at my sister's house
16th - ate a Cracker Barrel, drove 2 hours to be with his mom
17th - drove to his brother's and sister-in-laws, 3hour drive
18th - hung out
19th - still hanging
20th - Drove up to sister-in-law's parents house, 2 hours
21th - drove 2 hours back to his mom's for her Christmas, that night at 10pm drove 3 hours to my maternal grandma's house
22th - maternal grandma's Christmas, afterwards drove 2 hours to get to his maternal grandparents
23rd - Christmas with his maternal grandparents
24th - drove to my parents, 3 hours
25th - drove to his paternal grandparents 2 hours and dropped him off, I drove to my paternal grandma for her christmas 3 hours of driving
26th - drove up to his paternal grandparents, 3 hours
27th - drove down to sister-in-law's parent house again, 2 1/2 hours
28th - hung out, played many many games. Pig Pong is awesome!
29th - drove to his mom's for basketball game, 2 hours
30th - drove to my parents house, 3 hours
31st - drove to the comic shop (highlight of the Holidays so far)
1st - celebrated Christmas with my parents and sisters
2nd - relaxed
3rd - relaxed some more and did some laundry
4th - drove to the airport, 2 1/2 hours, flew back , terrible bumby flight, Worst ever. threw up in the barf bag as the plane was landing
That was my holiday. Which is why I plan on never going back for Christmas. I'm so sick of driving and being in a car that I don't want to go anywhere. Even now.
feels good to sit and relax. I hate not being able to get on my message boards and journals. Missed all of you guys. |

getting closer and I've been busy as hell. not only that but my computer was acting up so I put it in a time out. Oh yeah, my computer was in a time out for 4 days. I hope it learned. ;P

Low and behold today was an accomplished day. I had my teeth cleaned today. My teeth are the complete opposite of what they were 2 years ago. I have to congradulate myself on it. I have a few possible cavities. Meaning they are there but not enough of it to fix. The possible cavities are getting smaller because of they way that I take care of my teeth. I floss every night, brush 2 times a day and use Act restoring mouthwash before I go to bed. even the doc said my teeth were perfect. yup, that's right. I'm bragging. :)
The PX had the video camera in and I bought it. :D I played with it for an hour today, it's cool. Though the battery life is only 1 1/2 hours. So, I'm gonna need to buy a another battery this week or next. Definitely by the end of the week.
Had our first soccer practice for the fall today. Didn't do much but I did get a little tired. Shows that I need to get back into shape. I've been working out a bit the past week so I'm getting there. Just not there yet. But I will. :)
Got to go tanning, trying to have a little color before my hubby gets back. |

Tomorrow morning I'm heading to VEGAS!!!!!!! YEAH BABY!!!! I'm going with a close friend and it's gonna be awesome! I bought a fushia dress just for it. Which is weird cuz I don't wear dresses or fushia. We're gonna go to the spa and hit up the playboy club. I've been doing laundry and packing all day. All I've got left is hygiene stuff, which I have to use tonight and tomorrow morning. But other than that I'm set!
We're gonna go out and watch Transformers tonight. Heard it was an awesome movie. :)

wow, I can't believe June has come and gone so quickly. I started working at Victoria's Secret June 2nd. It's been so busy trying to keep up with everything, keeping the house clean, hanging with friends, and work. I even somehow manage to fit sleeping in there somehow. :/ I'm able to check my email everyday which is nice but getting on my message boards and websites................maybe once a week.
Good news is that I'm only working 3 days this week. I'm working tomorrow which kinda sucks but then I don't work again until Thursday. Monday I plan on catching up with all of my internet sites. Yeah, I know, LOADS to catch up on. Just thought I'd stop in for a minute between laundry loads to let everyone know what I've been up to and why I haven't been around much.
So, I'll be back tomorrow. Right at the buzzer too (the dryer went off). :) See you all then!! |

Just thought that I should share with all of you that my husband came home from Iraq for 2 weeks of Rest and Recovery (R&R). He'd been gone 9 months and he will he gone for about 5 more months. So the good thing is that we're over half way through. I miss him and life really is different without him. I'm glad that Stargate and Heroes are back on. It's something to look forward to. Something to keep me busy. |

the colts beat the patriots!!!! We're off to the superbowl!!!! I ran through the house screaming after the last touchdown and then again after the interception!!! AWESOME game!!!!!
So the superbowl is Bears vs Colts, those are my teams. My birthday is the same day as the superbowl which makes it my birthday wish. It's gonna be a good day. The only thing that could make it better would be if my husband could be with me. Oh well, can't have everything we want can we?
